SAT-7 Trust: Our Volunteer Policy
The function of SAT-7 Trust is to raise prayer and financial support in the UK and Ireland for the ministry of SAT-7 in the Middle East and North Africa.
SAT-7 Trust’s awareness and fund raising work in the UK is a partnership between volunteers and staff. As a volunteer, your gift of time, skills and experience will extend SAT-7 Trust’s capacity to use media to make God’s love visible across the Middle East and North Africa. By doing so it is SAT-7 Trust’s aim that volunteers gain satisfaction from this partnership and that the relationship is one of mutual benefit.
Volunteer Roles
Typical roles include:
- Ambassadors –SAT-7 Trust has a national network of ambassadors who represent SAT-7 in ways pertinent to their skills, experience and networks. Ambassador may speak on behalf of SAT-7 at churches, youth groups, and other awareness raising events; organise and run fundraising events; attend Christian conferences to raise awareness of SAT-7 and undertake other activities as appropriate
- Church representatives – Our church representatives promote the work of SAT-7 Trust and ambassadors within their church and local communities including the circulating of SAT-7 prayer letters.
- College representatives – representing SAT-7 Trust within their college communities.
- Office volunteers –helping out at our offices in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Typical jobs include helping to send out our mailings or lending a hand with the day-to-day running of our busy office.
How to become a Volunteer
Recruitment Policy:
Volunteers are either recruited directly by SAT-7 Trust or applications can be made to SAT-7 Trust. When SAT-7 Trust receives an unsolicited application to be a volunteer then SAT-7 Trust may take up references and may call the volunteer for an interview. Applications can be made to the SAT-7 Trust Office or via the SAT-7 Trust website.
The SAT-7 Trust Head of Operations has overall responsibility for Volunteers of SAT-7 Trust and will handle any overall issues or grievances. Matters relating to the recruitment, development and support of Ambassadors, church representatives and college representatives are dealt with by SAT-7 Trust’s Development Officer. Office volunteers are organised through the Office Administrator.
When you volunteer with SAT-7 Trust you can expect:
- Your gift of time, skills and experience will be used well.
- Your volunteering will be appreciated and recognised.
- You will be provided with all the information and guidance required for you to carry out your volunteering. You will be encouraged to develop in your volunteering role.
- You are free to stop volunteering at any time.
