SAT-7 Day of Prayer

SAT-7's third Annual Day of Prayer took place on Sunday 1st November.   Many churches and individuals within the UK participated by holding special events or by focussing on SAT-7 in their services.  Middle Eastern dinners were held in churches in Derby and Orpington, presentations were given and intercession made for the ministry.   Rita El Mounayer, the Executive Director of the Arabic channels, came to the UK and spoke at three events.   Some churches have donated their collection to the work of SAT-7.  Thank you to all who helped to make the Day of Prayer a success.

Vision Trip and Network Conference

In November a group of 20 SAT-7 supporters, from the UK, Norway and Denmark, embarked on a short “Vision Trip” to Lebanon.   The group enjoyed a full programme over four days, with visits to the Cedars Forest, the ancient cities of Byblos and Baalbeck and the incredible Jeita Grotto.  The group also visited the Lebanese Bible Society, a school for those with special needs, and the Home of Hope, a home for street children.  It was humbling to see the efforts that Christians in Lebanon are making to care for the marginalised in society.         

Following the Vision Trip the group travelled to Cyprus to participate in the Network conference.  It was good to meet staff from Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.  There were encouraging  reports of viewers’ lives being changed, and much food for thought and prayer regarding future plans.  It was summed up by one participant: “So often when you come to Network, you can see wonderful developments year on year, as the mission moves into new areas, and this year was no exception.  But as well as that gentle trajectory of change, there are one or two amazing rockets of excitement.”

Perhaps one of the rockets of excitement was to be part of the audience for the show “From Me to You” which was broadcast live from the conference theatre.  We had a taste of what SAT-7 is all about as viewers called in to the show from all over the Middle East and the hosts prayed for them on air.
